Louise has created a really fun technique to transform your favorite photograph into an abstract painting. If you have a photograph of a family member or friend or a picture of a special pet, an animal, or an object that you'd like to turn into a painting, you can use that image to create a unique painting.
In this video course, Louise will walk you through the step-by-step process of tracing and inking the image from your photograph, inking the whimsical design, and painting or pouring the color onto the background.
You can use watercolor or acrylic paints to create these colorful paintings. It's easy and fun.
More fun ideas.
As mentioned, you can use any image you'd like but the image of the girl sitting among the giant Christmas ornaments will be available to you if you'd like to recreate the original painting.
The image collage above shows some colorful paintings that Louise has created featuring an egret (bird), her granddaughter, Amanda, riding a horse, piano keys, and her granddaughter, April, playing the violin.
This class will give you the opportunity to paint your own children or grandchildren. The simplistic drawings are easy to recreate using a photograph and acetate paper. If you've ever wanted to paint a portrait but were intimidated, this class is for you because it's so easy.
In this video lesson you will learn:
- how to trace over your photograph using acetate paper
- how to create a whimsical inked design around your image
- how to paint and/or pour a vibrantly colored background using either watercolors or acrylic paints
When you have finished this class you will have a beautiful painting to hang on your wall, to give as a gift, or to sell.
